Chef duminda took part in the “Traditional Rice Presentation”  at salon del gusto 2012- turin, italy. Sri lanka, Indonesia, Colombia, South Korea & Philippines were the countries that participated at this event.
Here chef duminda used our very ancient type of rice “Kurulutuda” which last for 200 years in sri lanka. This type of rice is one of the most high quality red rice with a level of high protein & carbohydrates.
The chef had to prepare this rice in front of “Gobble Food Taters”. He served the rice with bottle gourd curry & this dish was named as one of the best preparations at the event.
Italian chefs helped at the plating & volunteers from the university of Gastronomic Science helped as well.
This was a great opportunity to bring back our rice culture to the world & pictures from the event are posted herewith.
