Amberalla one of famous fruit in sri lanka.which is famous as a curry too.many of sri lankan domestic people make there curry with unique recipes.here we are going to try Ambaralla ambula which is very famous in Down south of Sri lanka.and this is a origanic fruit too.this is one of traditional Sri lanakn recipe too.ideal for rice and curry,the sweet and sour bland dish very well  with rice and curry.enjoy our Chef Duminda’s Recipe.

Method

  1. first wash and cut ambarella into 2 pieces.
     now boil it with 3 water cups. next remove ambarella skin.
     next heat oil in a another pan and add mustard seeds, after fry it add garlic with onion, fry it to golden brown color. then add cinnamon, curry leaves, chilli powder, curry powder,  and mix well. then add boiled ambarella and sugar. now mix well and add coconut milk, cook it between stir about 15 minutes under low fire.

Note
when you add the sugar in to the ambaralla please close the fire.and mixed it.and do not add lot of coconut milk in to it.this is a curry with thick gravy.and you are free to add more chilli in to it  if nessary.this is a black curry.
