Here we go again with another fabulous dish from the Mmaster Chef Duminda. This time he is doing a combination of Beetroot & Banana Flowers. Another dish to add to our menu of rice & curry. This is prepared as a spicy dish & lets try out our chefs recipe.

Total Time:
           30 min
Prep
           15 min
Cook
            15 min
Yield:
10 potions
Level:
Easy

Method

  1.  cut the banana flowers in to thick slices and soak in salt water for few minutes
  2. slice onion and garlic…
  3. add some oil in to a pan & when the pan is heated,.add some mustard seeds, cumin and curry leaves and saute for a minute or two…
  4. add onion garlic into the same pan and let it saute for a while with the rest, then add the chilli and coriander powder.
  5. add the beet and banana flower and mixed together. Let it cook in a slow heat for 10 minutes.
  6.  Now add the maldive fish
  7. add coconut milk and cook for another 3 minutes on low fire

Note

Recommend a clay pot to cook this dish & time to time you have to adjust the heat while  cooking. At the end when you add the coconut milk the fire has to be reduced and let it simmer. Cooking in a clay pot gives you a real taste of the dish.
