Roast Chicken with Manyokka salad

 This recipe is a combination of eastern & western cooking. Manyokka is very common in sri lanka as well as chicken. We many sri lankans love manyokka for meals and its not a very costly yam.  Ideal for dinner to be served with some bread rolls.

  •  200 g chicken breast
  • 100 g manyokka cut in to cubes and boiled
  • 1 tomato chopped
  • some celery chopped
  • 1 tsp chopped capsicum
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 1 tsp lime juice

3 potions


  1. Marinate the chicken with salt,pepper, mustard paste, soya sauce and roast in the oven for 15min in 175C.
  2. Mean while boil the manyokka and let it to cool.
  3. Take a bowl and add all other ingredients and tossed salad.


Do not use ginger in this salad & you are free to use a meat as you prefer. I have used alot of sri lankan spices here and you can do changes in the recipe to create your own.
