Sacred Heat Convent has organized an event with Chef Duminda as a lesson to Grade 2 at their school. Main focus of this event was to make awareness among young children, about fruits in day to day life and how fruits can be benefited for a healthy life. This event taught children about the importance of having fruits in our meals and the sort of benefits they get consuming it.

Sacred Heart Convent invited Chef Duminda to host this event and interact with the children by making the event interesting with fun activities. As you may aware, Chef Duminda attracts local and international people through his slow food demos, especially youth networks and he is a founder member of the Slow Food Nuwara Eliya Convivial.

This event was supported by SFNE Convivial and it was a slow food demonstration involving kids, but event was available for public and interactivity with Chef Duminda.

It was great moment for the kids and Chef Duminda prepared fruit Salad with the help of the participating kids and kids got first hands on how to peel, cut and make simple, but nutritious fruit salad during the event.

Dilna Ceylon was the sole sponsor of this event that produce true Sri Lankan products to the local and international markets. Dilna is always keen on supporting event such as this to promote healthy food practices to Sri Lankan public. This is a part of their community service programs where Dilna help to deliver many public awareness programs on promoting traditional food practices in Sri Lanka.

And we take this opportunity to thank Principal and the class teacher Mrs Panditha for organizing such a wonderful event for the kids and giving them an opportunity to learn the basics and enjoy the food they are consuming.  It was a great experience for Chef Duminda as well to share his basic but important culinary skills with the younger generation of the country.

We wish all the success to SHC and to have a bright future in the years to come, to produce proud worthy citizens to Sri Lanka.
