This is another recipe the chef would like to share after his experience he had. This is called “KAMMAL BATHA”.

This is prepared with coconut and long white grain rice.  Particularly prepared at the KAMMALA it self and enjoyed by the workers. Thats how this recipe got its name.
A complete meal with high nutritions.
Another successful effort by the chef to rewrite the cooking history.
  • 500 g White rice
  • 2 no garlic cut in to strips
  • 1 no onion sliced
  • 1/2 young coconut cut in to small pieces
  • some curry leaves
  • some dry chillis
  • some green chillis
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • some coconut oil
  • some water
  • salt

4 potions 


  1. cut all ingredients and keep a side
  2. wash the rice and keep a side
  3. Heat a clay pot add some oil and saute all ingredients for few minutes with rice
  4. add water and cook the rice as normal,served with dry fish gravy

in tradition people of sir Lanka used white long grain rice.but now in modern time you are totally free to use basmathi or samba rice.
