Our Next stop was shaniwarwada, this place seemed to be a great landmark in Pune which was a fort of the Great peshwa rulers during the maratha empire.

But before we could get inside, we had a powerful Indian lunch, i had some tandoori naan and chicken tikka masala, which is very famous and i relished it. Thanks to saldanha and uday ramdas (a famous tabla player) who took us to one of best restaurants in town.
Shaniwarwada  was Built in 1746, it was the seat of the peshwa rulers of the maratha empire until 1818 when the Peshwas surrendered to the British. The fort itself was largely destroyed in 1828 by an unexplained fire, but the surviving structures are now maintained as a tourist site.
Following the rise of the maratha empire, the palace became the centre of Indian politics in 18th century.
It took us more than 3 long hours to go around and i must say how happy i was to see the proud monument and a landmark in Asia. As a sri lankan, im truly overwhelmed that i made an effort to visit these historical places in India.
I sincerely recommend all sri lankans to visit India and see its proud culture..
