Kohila is another vegetable commonly seen and consumed by the sri lankans.  We have alot of greens in our country.  Kohila has a herbal value and its full with fiber that we need for our human body.  Kohila cannot be eaten raw.. it has to be prepared and sri lankans make it  in different ways. ” Kohila with parippu” is a famous side dish with our meals. In the down south areas ” Kohila Thel dala” is a common dish & very tasty. The leaves, the stem and the yam of this plant is prepared in many ways. Nowadays this green is not grown as in the earlier days.  But i think we should try to grow them if we have wet areas around in our gardens.
